The Bottom Line – 2009-08-18 August 18th 2009
Our meeting this month is another one that won’t disappoint.
Here are the details!
What: I want to remind everyone that Tuesday, August 18th, we will have our monthly meeting of “The Bottom Line.”
When: Tuesday, August 18th from 11:45 – 1:00 pm
Our Speaker: Dr. David Cox of Raleigh, North Carolina, serves as the ministry coordinator for The Other 6 Days, a marketplace ministry based in Raleigh, NC, that seeks to encourage and assist Christian men and women as they apply and integrate their faith and love for Christ with the challenges of their workplaces. For more information go to www.theother6days.com.
Before beginning his work with The Other 6 Days, David served as church pastor most of his adult life in Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. He also had the privilege of founding Richland Creek Community church in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he served for seven years beginning in 1996. He has served as the interim pastor at First Baptist Church in Humble (Houston area), TX since November last year.
For several years in the 1980s, David worked in the automobile sales industry in Greenville, North Carolina. He is currently employed in a part-time consulting capacity in the auto industry again in Cary, North Carolina.
Majoring in history, David earned a Bachelor of Science from Gardner-Webb College in 1983 and went on to earn a Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry in 1987 and 1997, respectively, both from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
David married Malinda (Dee Dee) Justice in 1983, and they have been blessed with three children: Bethany (23), Zachary (19), and Stafford (13). He enjoys basketball, camping with his family, all outdoor activities, and seeing the hand of God transform Christian men and women when they realize that God has called them, too, to usher in the Kingdom of God on earth via their vocations and workplaces.
Where: The location is at the Spartanburg County Public Library just off of Kennedy Street and Church Street in downtown Spartanburg in the Barrett Room. The directions inside the library to the Barrett Room are: when you come into the main entrance of the library just follow the main hallway all the way in until the last “big wooden interior door” on the left.
