Christian Business & Workplace
THE BOTTOM LINE
The monthly Bottom Line Meeting was created because we believe that God is presently moving in the workplace and business community to draw men and women to Him. Where do most people spend their time – at work. Most of us are not called to be a pastor of a Church. For many of us, much of the living out of our calling – the accomplishment of the Lord’s purpose – is to occur in the workplace. Work and people’s role in it are part of God’s creation. What could be more important for your life than knowing, communicating with, and doing the will of God. For most of us much of this will occur – at work. Workplace ministry is utilizing the foundations of the church which focused on equipping every believer to be a minister where they are. It is the priesthood of every believer. It is an intentional focus of equipping men and women in all spheres of work to understand and experience their work and life as a holy calling from God. It is a holistic approach to bringing Christ into our work lives. When we do this, all aspects of life and work are impacted. Associates at work become the primary source of building meaningful relationships that can lead to salvation. In addition, we must allow God to show us how to work well (as unto the Lord), how to gain ideas and strategies to succeed (for that which the Lord has called us to do), how to love our fellow workers, and how to experience the power of God in a workplace context so that others see a difference in us. That is what changes the world and produces eternal value.
The Bottom Line is an acronym that lives out through the word “LINE”.
L = Leadership Principles
I = Integrating Faith, Work, and Church
N = Network
E = Eternal Value
The purpose of the Bottom Line monthly meeting is to gather business/workplace leaders, introducing them to the Workplace Movement and encouraging them in their unique calling to their vocation. We also want to share specific examples of business leaders implementing Workplace Ministry efforts to inspire personal application by others in different types of workplace environments – as well as encourage them to join an ongoing weekly Christian Workplace small group to become better equipped to follow-through with their faith.
